Is it normal for my internal hard drive to appear in the Remove Hardware tab in the taskbar? Everytime I boot up Windows XP its always there but I am afraid to remove it because it might do something bad to my data. I only have one internal Sata drive that is partitioned into 2.

If it is not causing a problem, leave it alone.

Lots of problems can be caused by making "adjustments" to computers that don't really need doing - as you have hinted already.

DO NOT REMOVE AS HARD DRIVE WILL STOP WORKING

You need to get the Sata driver for Intel Chipset

My cpu is Athlon 64 X2 4800+ and my motherboard is MSI K8N Diamond. Do they also have drivers for SATA?

SATA drivers built into the BIOS on that board.

SATA drives are considered to be "HOT SWAPABLE" and therefor can be classed as removable drives
therefore is normal.
