Insufficient USB ports.

To install a printer on my laptop requires two USB ports, one for the printer and one for the cd drive. The laptop has only one USB port, how do I overcome this?

Hi, you could use a usb hub. Have a look here:

or here, just for starters.

OK, cheers, is it possible that I could use a cable from the printer to the blue 15-pin socket?

Only if the printer is fitted with a parallel port, ver few are nowadays.

I think the 15 pin socket you are referring to is for attaching an external monitor to your laptop.

You may be able to copy the installation files from the cd to the harddrive and perform the printer installation without the cd attached.
