Installing XP Home Edition

Hi Everybody,My friend has an Emachines computer which came with XP Home edition Installed,he has had problems trying to start but has lost the EMachines restore Disc, He would like to know how to reprogram , he has been given a genuine XP Home edition Disc from his sister,as she went out and bought a new Computer and had another disc given with here New one, Can He use the old disc and what is also needed to reinstall Home edition Thanks in Advance Bill

If the disk he has been given is a full installation disk then he can just boot with it and install XP home. He will need to be aware though that the software that came with the preinstalled machine will be wiped with no going back.

I Have been told that the Disc has got Upgrade halogramed, can he install with that disc or what else does he need. Bill

you will need a full version of a windows operating systen from Windows 95 onwards to put in you drive during XP installation.
