installing windows7

I purchased a full version of windows7 but when I installed it I did not gwt the option to format the drive as I did with XP. Windows installed ok but left several files including a windows old.I get the feeling this is only an upgrade not a full version.I was going to put a formated drive in to see if it would load on that but I only have a 7gig drive dont think it would be big enough. Any advice would be appreciated.

It isn't an upgrade. The Windows Old file is just all your Data from the previous setup. The Windows Installer dected data on that drive so it moved it to a Windows Old File. Don't Worry it is a clean install.
