hi,
My mate has given me a cd which is a oem setup of windows xp home. Now he says that to install it i have to reboot the pc etc. However when it loads some driver things it says error then when i try to type in D:\setup.exe it says that this can not be run in dos mode. So i reboot and i get the welcome to xp splash screen what do you want to do. Now if i click install i get upgrade or complete. MY computer at this moment has xp but i just want to formatt it. However the installation i have installed already was designed for a dell but i have a packard bell. So if i was to install the complete of the oem setup despite having errors on boot. will the instalation work and it will not be corrupt.

Thanks

Ben

It should work fine, do remember however that you will loose all your data. A full install will do a format of the drive on a BTW note.
