Installing windows 7

I have just recieved Win 7 as a birthday gift My system is running XP Home on an Atlon XP 2800 with 2 gig DDR ram and Nvidia Gforce 4 MX440 AGP8X. My question is do I now upgrade to this new O/S, will I need to get new drivers for everything, should I stay put.

Some of the drivers will be inbuilt to W7 however it would be prudent to do a web search for the W& driver before you attempt to install.

I would suggest setting up a dual-boot (a guide click here) so you have a choice of both OSes.

As you have a single-core CPU system, you may find Win7 a bit sluggish compared to XP, but this is to be expected.

Make sure to do a thorough backup before proceeding. G

Installed windows7 on a new tower did not need to download any drivers as Microsoft must have downloaded them during the install.
