Installing Win XP

  zigg 11:51 18 Feb 04

I am about to install Win xp on my D drive in a dual boot 98 and xp system.
Do I need to delete all the programs and other stuff from my D drive before installing win xp (full version) or will the reformating process automatically delete any existing files on the D drive before installing win xp.
Any advice appreciated.

Assuming that Win 98 is on your c:\ drive, and you have enough space on your d:\ drive for Win XP, then you won't lose any files.

Win XP installation doesn't reformat your disk unless you instruct it to, and you don't have to convert your files to NTFS format if you don't want to -- in fact, if you want to continue to use them with Win 98 you'll have to leave them in FAT32 format.
