installing vista HP on new PC

  rickysayer 21:21 06 Nov 08

I have just finished building my first PC and started to load Vista Home Premium. Got to the bit where it asks you to select the driver to be installed. Picked option to load driver then the following message came up - no device drivers were found make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers.

The bios has register my new hard drive but it seems windows has not. when it asks for motherboard disk where the drivers are located it still refuses to load them. Any Ideas as to whats happening? hope someone can help!

Are you installing on a sata drive ?

There is a recognised conflict of interest whether you need the sata drivers or not.

Some say you do,some say you,ive not installed Vista to a sata cannot directly answer yes or no for the drivers.

If indeed a sata drive, try loading the drivers.

And I will go with its looking for Sata

Best way would be go to either Motherboard Site for Vist Sata Drivers or to Hard Drive site
