Installing and Using Network PCI Card

  spuds 12:45 03 Mar 05

Just installed a Belkin Desktop Network PCI Card [F5D5000uk] and keep getting an error message stating that the cable is not fitted correctly.Strange is there is no cable, the unit is fitted directly into the motherboard.Refitted a couple of times with same error message. Is this a case of faulty unit or perhaps dirt etc on contacts!.

Also have another query. My system consists of BT extension wall box,ADSL filter with added dual connector for phone and fax.Filter is connected direct to exterior SpeedTouch 330 modem. Instructions not very good, so PCI card socket to ?? via ??.Daft question possibly, but I am not thinking straight today.

windows xp will tell you that there is no cable connected until you either connect a network cable or disable the card
