When running the installation proceduer does your mouse work or is it just your keyboard

In my case, I have no mouse control.

Is it a USB mouse?

  Effie 21:52 27 Apr 04

VOG.

no.

Just your keyboard normally, unless you install a DOS driver for the mouse. I personally have never bothered with the mouse when clean installing Windows, because apart from the BIOS, it's not needed. Is there any particular reason you need the mouse working? If you tell us what you want to do, someone will be able to tell you the key combinations.

try another mouse it should work if it's a PS/2 or serial mouse. USB no

If it's a wireless it will not work ether

Mouse is a PS/2.
Very odd just had this PC working on the old harddrive, the mouse worked ok.

Installing new drive, and Win98se OS and mouse control during installation.
Looks like you need the mouse control, during installation.

Put old drive back on and mouse work great.

Thanks for your ideas.

Hmmm, That's interesting, my mouse has never worked until Windows has started loading. I've just checked the boot disk, there's a keyboard driver, but no mouse driver, must be me then, I'll shut up.

Sorry, Should have said NO mouse control during installation.

  VoG II 22:11 27 Apr 04

Is this an install on a formatted drive?

  woodchip 22:15 27 Apr 04

As I said try a different mouse as it should work as soon as it goes into scandisk before Win install
