Installing a new Windows XP

Can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction?

I want to install a fresh Windows XP but already have one up and running.

How can you install a new one when ones already up and running?

The reason for me wanting to do this is because I want to get rid of some things (trial office) amongst others that came with the factory set up that can't just be uninstalled.

Is there any major downsides of doing this?

Iv'e backed up my drivers and somne personal software but thats about it!

Cheers
