Hi

I have a laptop HP 530, I'm about to install the new ram.

I've opened the back up, there is already 1 ram card in there, but 2 slots, do I leave the ram in there, and install the new one also, or do I take the one out and just replace it.

TIA

Leave it in and add the new one

Depends what amount of RAM your laptop supports how much is there already and the amount you want to install.

Perhaps either have a look at the manual included with the laptop (generally a file showing up on the screen) or go online to someone like Crucial click here= to determine exactly what you have and what spare capacity is available and the specification of the RAM.

Hi

I've installed the RAM, it's running much more faster, it's now showing 1527 MB RAM, however, my screen has gone incredibly dark compared to prior installing the ram, any advice please?

The above post was in error, I'm sorted now, everything is OK.

Thanks to those who offered assistance.
