Installing a new Hard Disk

  J33 15:09 31 Jul 05

I have decided that i wish to upgrade my IBM thinkpad's hard drive. It is currently 10Gb and i wish to install a 40GB HDD. I want it to be internal and have the contents of the old hard drive on it. How could i copy the old HDD's content to the new 40Gb HDD?

any help would be much apreciated.

Unfortunately most laptops do not allow two drives to be connected at the same time unless one of them is an external drive via USB or firewire.

You can buy an adaptor cable to allow a laptop battery to be coupled to a dektop PC.

you would have to clone the whole harddrive to a partion on the desktop then attatch the new drive and clone the partion back to the new drive.
