Installing DVD player

I decided to upgrade my old CD player to a DVD and thought it would be a simple replacement as I had done this before on another computer, but when I got the new DVD player I found that the connections were different. The DVD player is a Sony DVD/CD rewritable. The two connections on the back say Sata Power/Sata Drive but are nothing like the connections on the old CD player which is also a Sony. The computer is a Dell Optiplex GX 270 Is it possible to get new connection cables and how difficult would it be to change? Any suggestions gratefully received.

You have bought the wrong type you need an older IDE style click here any one of these will do.

It is possible to get an IDE contoller to Pata conversion card and suitable power adapter. But you might be better off trying to exchange your purchase or just buying and IDE item, as suggested by Strawballs. They are not expensive.
