Installing Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 graphics card drivers on XP Home OS. The graphic card CD states that it displays drivers for XP ,

Windows now telling me this installation has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatability with windows XP?

Is it safe to install these drivers?

Sorry, should have said is the above driver safe to put on XP as it does not pass the logon test?

Providing they are the Nvidia XP drivers, ignore the message.

Lastchip, yes they are Nvidia drivers and I will take your advice and install them. Thank you!

Is this going to be a regular accurrance when installing other hardware or software on XP even if the CD states that they are XP compatable?

It's all about money; isn't it always!

The manufacturers have to pay Microsoft to validate their drivers. Many are refusing, and so although the drivers are perfectly satisfactory, they haven't had Microsoft's approval.
