Hi All,

I am trying to install sql server 2000 client on my machine after uninstalling SQL 7, however, it told me that there's a error about:

'a previous program installation created pending file operations on the installation machine. you must restart the computer before running setup.'

but I have no programs half way into their installation. how do i get rid of this and install SQL server 2K on my machine?

Have you restarted the computer and re-tried. Sometimes when you uninstall something the computer needs to be rebooted to update file configuration.

i have actually found a fix for this....

have to go into the registry via 'regedit' and delete all references to SQL.... a bit risky, but it work. (...apparently touch nothing in the ODBC folder....)

many thanks.
