Install icon in Task Bar

I have WinXP and have the install icon for KB2418241 in the Task Bar.I duly click to install and the update does install - checked in Control Panel.I reboot and lo and behold up comes the very same update icon. How can I get this wretched icon to go away and stay away?

Right click on it and delete.

If you mean that you have it in start up programs you have to go into msconfig.Start Up.And untick it.
Mind you not sure how you managed to get an update on the Taskbar in the first place.

That would be Run,And then type in msconfig.Ok.

If I right click on it it just gives Express Install or Custom Install.

You are talking about the Update shield icon which displays in the notification area
