info needed for Boeder scanner

  Rocktapper 21:37 05 Mar 03

My dad has just been given a secondhand Boeder Smartscan Slim Edition scanner to use with his windows XP computer. He was told that it doesn't need a separate power supply as the power is fed via the usb. There was no power lead with it and there's no power connector on the scanner. He's followed the installation instructions but the power LED on the scanner fails to light and the scanner won't work. I've tried searching for info on the internet but have so far failed to find anything that might help.

You might need to use a powered USB hub if it's drawing too much power for your USB connection to supply, Rocktapper. I think I found some drivers for it, if you don't have the correct drivers. click here Usually with a USB device the drivers have to be installed before you connect the device to your PC.
