Infected Objects not found by AVG

  Dirty Dick 18:35 26 Nov 08

I have just done an online scan using the Kaspersky Online Scanner, and was shocked to find that I have

Threat Names : 4
Infected Objects : 57
Suspicious Objects : 2

One of the infected objects is "Trojan-Spy.HTML.Bankfraud.hs"

I have AVG 8 Free on my PC and when I scan using this, there is none of these items found.

How should I get rid of these infected items?

Download and run a full scan with malwarebytes click here then do an online scan click here

Do a scan with superantispyware(free) too.Run malwarebytes and superantispyware in safe mode(By tapping f8 at boot up)

Malwarebytes is best run in normal mode {Quick scan}

"How should I get rid of these infected items?"

Surely the Kaspersky scan will get rid of them for you?

The NOD32 (eset) scan above link will.

So much for AVG free edition - it omits a number of important protections (see their own site).

For better free protection try Avast.

For all-round superior protection, pay for a top security suite - well worth it. I use eset Security Suite.

Also be aware that the latest test at the Virus Bulletin of Kaspersky produced a false positive.

The Kaspersky online scan only detects malicious software(to be removed manualy or otherwise)It doesn't remove them.

Nowhere near as useful as the eset one then.
