Inernet Explorer problem.

  ray7 21:15 08 Aug 10

Every time I try to access 'My computer' via the Start menu, as soon as the installed drives appear, I receive a message 'Windows Explorer has stopped working' followed immediately wit 'Windows explorer is restarting'

This immediately disappears and Desktop returns.

Any ideas to solve the problem would be appreciated

Your heading reads "Internet Explorer problem" but then you refer to Windows Explorer which is quite different - which is it ?

Do you know when this problem began? If it just recent try a System Restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem began.

And - which O.S. are you using?

Tried this. Only noticed it today. System restored to last Windows update..8/8/10.

Incidentally, OS...Vista

Do you have any restore points you could try?

Do you have any OTHER restore points you could try?

Earliest I have is 'System Scheduled Checkpoint
dated 28th July.

I'll restore to that point and let you know.
Thanks for your help.

Last 'restore' appears to have solved the problem.

woodchip...thanks anyway. I'll file your suggestion in case it re-occurs.

northumbria61....thanks again for your assistance.
