Indexing cds used for archiving/backups

I am looking for a way to automate the entry of the file properties (date, size, file summary etc) from the many and various CDs I have used for archiving, into a database such as Access. This would allow a fairly rapid search for files I stored a couple of years ago and now need to view again. The alternative would be to go through about 50 CDs using explorer each time.

Does anyone know of a program, free or proprietry, which could do this?

Power Archiver can print a file listing to a text file or html file click here and you can add a comment to the archive too.

Using archives for backups on CD has several benefits, and perhaps you already use them. If you archive hundreds or thousands of small files into a single archive it will copy a lot faster though I wouldn't recommend putting all of your files in a single archive. Fifty Mbytes or so is fine.
