increasing ram for games - worth it?

asus a7n8x-x mob (which has 3 slots up to 3Gb), 3Gz barton, 1Gb ddr, x800pro graphics, windows xp home and 550 watt psu.

i can run hl2 and doom3 well at high settings. many people with the same setup as me are getting another 512 or 1 gig of ram to improve performance. would another 512 on top of 1Gb really make any real difference?

many thanks

I think 1 gig is more than enough to play games and run windows, but buying more is up to you if you do i dont think you will see much,or any of a speed difference with the games or how windows runs. But you could buy it as a investment for the pc more ram cannot hurt.
