Inability to receive attachments in OutlookExpress

Having recently installed XP Pro and broadband. I was asked to use Outlook Express instead of my trusty Outlook.(The ISP only supports OE)

Since then I am unable to receive attachments or retain the attachments I have sent.

The "error message" is OE removed access to the following unsafe mail.....(file name).

The attachments are from safe sources and cover all files but especially .doc & .xls.

Any ideas please?
