Importing Music into Windows Movie Maker

Have tried to import music into a project both from CD and ITunes but keep getting error messages
The file E:\Track20.cda is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker. Can you help?

Convert the track into another format ie wma or mp3

You have windows media player rip the tracks on that into .wav which it will by default

Tried Windows Media Player but still got the error messages.
