Import from IE5 to IE6

Have rescued some data from an old win98 pc that the qwner wants transferred to his new one running XP

Is it poss to import IE5 DBX files directly into IE6

Do they need to be converted to IE6, if so, how?

open up OE

I assume you meant outlook express rather than IE?

Right click on the box you want to import (inbox etc etc) now select properties, now copy the line where it is stored, but do not copy the last bit (ie inbox.dbx)

Now open explorer (not IE) and paste the line

Now you can copy the files that you want and then transfer them once you have OE set up on the new computer

Does that make sense to you?

It's fully explained in the Outlook Express Help files.
