I'm getting an error message which comes up on a regular basis when I'm surfing. It's headed 'Iexplore' and goes on to say that 'this programme has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down' Once the error message has appeared then I'm unable to open up any further pages until I close the computer down and restart again.

Can anyone tell me how to correct this problem??

See whether repairing I.E. helps. If you've been having a lot of errors, run scandisk and defrag.

If you don't have Internet Explorer version 5.0 or newer, install at least version 5.5. Version 6 is now available...

Go to Start --> Run --> type: msinfo32 in the open box --> click OK --> From Tools the menu
--> choose IE Repair Tool --> Repair IE.

Another way to repair is go to the Control Panel - Add-Remove Programs > Highlight
Internet Explorer > Click Change-Remove tab > Repair I.E. > OK - Yes

Note: If you get an error message saying it cannot be repaired, redownload and install
then run the repair.

Latest version of IE can be found :-
