I am running ie8 on xp and up till recently have had no problems, then over the last few weeks it will not let me log onto my banks web site. Can do it from other computers and firefox so it is not a bank problem. I have also noticed that the maps on google page do not display.

Any one got any ideas of what may have gone wrong?

It's possibly an add in problem, I would go to Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> and press the Reset button at the bottom. This will take it back to default, you can then allow addins as you want.

Sorry rawprawn that did not work. Google maps still does not display anything.

I went to google home page (google.co.uk) entered my home town and selected search, when the list is displayed I clicked on maps on the list at the top. It displays the frame but no maps. Seems to just say loading but gets no further.

Could it be a problem with java scripting (although I get no errors reported)

Just try it after turning your security off, don't forget to turn it back on a again.
