IE7 & scrolling mouse problem

  sunny staines 14:19 06 Sep 06

been use IE7 for ages now but today when i tried to scroll the page it zoomed in & out instead of moving the page up / down.

using microsoft optical intellimouse.
a reboot put things right after I failed to correct the issue.

anyone know how to resolve this without a reboot should it recur please.

It works for me in the same way. Assuming you have the status bar visible you will see that it is possible in IE7 to alter the zoom.

In similar terms if you depress the scroll wheel (ie click it) the function changes to a zoom facility rather than scroll.

I should have added that a further click on the wheel sets it back again from zoom to scroll.

i tried depressing the scroll wheel, but working normally. what is the status bar. cant seem to bring on this zooming to test. but would be handy to know has the wife has poor vision and could be put to good use.

Right click on a spare part of the toolbar area, say near a tab. Check the status bar option.

I am on IE7 RC1 by the way.

Here is a screen shot, the status bar is above the task bar. To the right you may just see the 100% which is from where the adjustments can be made. click here
