I'm glad that my automatic updates are configured to "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them" as I like to decide what to install on my PC and not leave it to an automatic process.

CurlyWhirly, from the article:

"When the finished version of the new browser becomes available via the automatic update system users will get offered three options either to install, install later or not install at all."

With 'Automatic' selected for Windows updates, I think only 'critical' (or recommended) updates download & install this way. I can't see IE7 being classed as a 'critical' update, but I may be wrong. G

It replaces IE6. Is a BETA version, so you can tell your comp not to 'download' by saying 'no'. ok?

IE7.3

By the time IE7 is realised as an automatic update I should hope and expect it will be the final version, not the beta.
