I have recently tried to upgrade to IE7 from IE6. The download goes well until I try to choose my settings. I go through and choose my settings, but when I try to apply them it just freezes. I can't seem to get rid of the screen. Any ideas what is wrong?

It could be your firewall blocking it. I had to (briefly) switch mine off to install IE7. If you try this, make sure that you switch it on immediately afterwards.

Also you need to disable your anti virus during install.

copy the ie7 file to your hard drive then disconnect from the net and restart in safe mode. Then try installing.

ok we need to check
make sure that the runoncehasshown and runoncecomplete registry keys exist and are set to a value of 1
to do this click start click run type regedit click ok
locate to subkey and click it hkey-current-user
\software\microsoft\internetexplorer\main
in the details pane d click the runoncehasshown
reg entry
note if not located we must create it to do this
point to new on the edit menu now click dword value then type runoncehasshown in the new value box ok next in the value data box type 1 then ok

repeat above for second value only this time
your dword value is runoncecomplete and value
data 1
close registy editor

go ie7 wis
