IE6 - Disconnect When No Longer Needed

Try as I might I can't get this feature to work. I have enabled\disabled\re-enabled it several times to no avail.

I don't want IE7, and I know it's only a minor niggle but I want it to work.

Stopped working in the last couple of days, but I really don't want to use system restore for such a minor irritation.

I have AVG Pro\A2\Spybot S&D\Spyware Doctor all updated and all report clean so I don't think it's a nasty anywhere. Any ideas please?
