IE6 crashes

The problem I have is IE6 crashes when clicking on 'Favourites'. No error message, just black screen and hung system.

If I use system restore to a known good point, all works OK. On restart, particularly next day, problem often returns.

I have used Spybot and done AVG virus check with latest data files, all OK.

Checked Startup items and no new ones appear. I have also checked all I do have are legitimate.

Fells like malware, but I can't find it! I have repaired IE6 but did not resolve problem.

Any other things I could try before I format and reinstall?

System AMD XP1500+, Gigabyte GA7ZXE MoBo, Win ME.

Thanks for any advice.

Sounds to me that your system is having trouble reading the files in My Favorites. I suggest you copy your existing entries into a backup and create a new My favorites and test this before copying, one by one, your entries from the backup to the new Folder.

Thanks xania. I'll give that a try and report back later on.
