IE6 causes error on shutdown

  mjhbomere 10:46 13 Apr 03

I am using Microsoft Internet Explorer v6. Every time I have closed the program since I first installed it I get one of two error messages about 30 seconds after clicking the close button.

1st message

Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

There is a Tick box by the text Restart Microsoft Internet Explorer. This has to be unticked and then the message closed.

2nd message

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

Can anyone please suggest how to prevent these error messages.

For future information, mjhbomere, which part of that solution worked for you?
