IE6 Auto redial

When I lose the internet link I have to shut down my computer. When I restart and log onto internet again everything is fine. Does anyone know how to remedy this.
using winxp ie6 with btopenworld dialup surftime on an athlon xp2000 with 256 ram. modem is a sumvision 56k

Try the following: In IE click Tools>Internet Options>Connections Tab. Highlight the connection your using if more than one. Click Settings, in the Dial Up Connections box, click Properties>Options Tab. Redial Options box. Fill in the number of times to attempt redial, the Time between redial.The Idle Time change to Never. Then Tick box Redial if line dropped. Click OK. It should work alright then.
