IE5 upgrade

We have been told that IE5 (on Win98) is too old for ADSL connectivity, and need to update to 5.5 or later.
Problem being - can´t download upgrade as no connection !!!!!! Where can I find a seperate upgrade to download via friends machine without upgrading her PC as I think MS site uses wizard, and all supposed upgrades (of 400kb) are just a link to the whole product with a 3hour download time! ?

thanks, reading on these pages it seems that IE6 is not compatible with Win98se, has to be v5.05 but less than v6.

ps No free CDs here in Spain

IE6 is definitely compatible with 98se.

Mail me and I'll send you a disc.

Another thing to take note of with IE6 is that it needs a system of 433 or higher to run.

Just checked and I've got 5.5,5.5sp2,IE6&IE6sp1. If you want I'll put them all on one disc and you can take your pick. Up to you.

well actually, in the end it seems that IE5 is OK after all with ADSL. Thanks for the offers.
