IE not allowing text to be entered in input fields

Please bear with me on this one, I don't know all the details, as I haven't seen this problem myself.

Apparently the person uses AOL as her ISP.
She can navigate around happily, but if she tries to select a text box to type data in, such as ordering items online, she cannot do so.
I don't think it is a mouse problem as she cannot even use the keyboard to tab to the input field.

As I've never heard of such a problem, I thought I would ask you guys/girls for any advice that I can pass on.

Is there an IE setting that could cause these symptoms?

I may be missing something here, but the link that you posted refers to an error message in Word or Excel.

This problem relates to not being able to enter data into text entry fields in Internet Explorer.

Thanks for that VoG, I have printed the page, and downloaded the zip.

I shall pass it on and see if it fixes the problem.
(I suppose another alternative is to install Firefox !)
