not the answer i was looking for as updates are important?

well, you either wait 'till it's updated or stop updates i suppose?

i seem to recall there was a way one could hide the update if they didnt want ie7? which is what i am after

  PoppABear 19:51 30 Nov 08

I cant think of a reason not to?
IE6 is way out of date and insecure.
IE 8 is on the horizon once through beta testing,is there a reason you dont want IE7.
