This may be due to an unwanted entry in the HOSTS file.

Look for

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

(no file extension). If found rename it to HOSTS.TXT, restart the PC and try again.

sorry vog
is hosts.tx or HOSTS.TX

  Diodorus Siculus 21:38 27 Jun 05

hosts has no extension

You are looking for a file called just hosts (no .tx, .txt or anything).

You can rename it to anything - hosts.txt is best because it will then open in notepad and you can see what's there.

sorry to sound silly but why do i need to rname this file and open in notepad and what am i looking for

Just try to find it and if you do, rename it and restart the PC.

If this works we will deal with Notepad etc later.
