idling in the task manager.

i run xp pro with opera.

i've just been shown how to access the windows task manager[yeah i know, i'm a bit slow!!!], and i notice that the system idle pr is about 75 at the moment, often going into the nineties at times too.
at the bottom of the processes tab it says using only 32% with 38 processes going on.
why are the two figures so different, are they not referring to the same thing, cpu usage?

i would of thought that 75 is too high when i'm really not doing much at all, its literally just ticking over and idling.
that figure can also fluctuate quite a bit for no apparent reason, is that normal?

what exactly is system idle pr? [yes, another stupid question], is it vital to have it?

thats it, i know i went on a bit too much probably, but its difficult trying to discuss something that i know nothing about!
