Hi, I want to upgrade my DVD burner. If I have Sata hard drives have I got to use Sata dvd buners.
I know you can get either IDE interface or Sata interface, which burners do I needto get?

An Secondary IDE Channel connection is more than adequate for rewriter use. Make sure that DMA is Enabled.

No you don't need to get a DVD burner with a SATA connection, if you have an IDE connection on your motherboard, then an IDE burner is sufficient.

Makes no difference.
Data transfer will be limited by the spin speed of the disks.

As long as you have an IDE channel on your board then use that for the CD /DVD drives and save your SATA ports for the much faster HDDs
