ide to sata connector hard drive problem

i have just built a new system, amd 4000mhz dual core, msi k9n neo v3 motherboard, 2gig ddr2 ram, 256mb nvidia 3d card, main drive is sata, i have second drive which is ide, i connected the ide to sata adaptor because i only have one ide input on mobo, problem is motherboard wont recognise it and i have all my work on their, do i need to make changes in the bios for it to be recognised and should it be set to master drive. thanks.....

Hi, try setting the IDE drive to CS (cable select).

IDE drive should be set to master as are all SATA drives.

Check in the bios that the channel you wish to use is enabled.

Right click my computer > manage > disk management. Is the drive listed there?
