Hi to you all,

I'm having a few problems with my IDE drives! What I assume to be my E drive is now my F drive. I only have 2 drives a ROM DVD (E) MASTER and a DVD read/writer (F) SLAVE.
When I put a CD into my ROM drive it shows up as my F drive and visa versa. This is reviewing via the start my computer path, to view devices.
The cable goes straight from the Mother board to my slave and then to the master via the ribbon cable.

Set the jumpers on the rear of both drives to CS [Cable select] then connect the slave drive to the middle connector on the IDE cable and your master drive to the end connector of the IDE cable.

This way your PC will auto detect the drives for you.
