Hi Just bought a diamondmax 20 drive. I wanted IDE connector but it says use IDC connector. What is the difference? and can I use IDE?

Hi, yes, you can use the normal IDE.

Nice one, Thanks

IDC just refers to how the connector itself fixes to the cable. If I remember correctly stands for Insulation Displacement Connection. Means little pins in connector pierce insulation without cutting wire inside. Similar to phone extension boxes but smaller. For Harddrives there's 40 pin and Floppy are 28 pins.

Hope that clears things up Sealer. :)
