Hi, I have an old Packard Bell iMedia 4715 which I want to upgrade the memory for (Iv been to the Crucial site and its not listed, they have a 4716, but its nothing like mine).
But before I do anything, I would like to upgrade my BIOS. I used the American Megatrends site using the system analyser program, it generated the following.

Program: eSupport.com BIOS Agent Version 3.30
BIOS Date: 07/10/01
BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 63-0316-119900-00101111-071595-WHITNEY-1AACC100
OEM Sign-On: 6WMM7 V3.0W
Chipset: Intel Whitney 82810 rev 3
Superio: Winbond 627F/HF rev 7 found at port 2Eh
OS: WinXP
CPU: Pentium® III (0.18 µm) With 256 KB On-Die L2 Cache 1002 MHz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Unknown
BIOS ROM Size: Unknown
Memory Installed: 126 MB
Memory Maximum: Unknown

I don't know where to go, it sent an e-mail off automatically to the advisor, but Im not so sure it will come back with useful (free) info (it tried to sell me something after sneding the e-mail, so Im dubious whether the response will be free). Any help much appreachated.

You need to go to the website of the motherboard manufacturer. Search for your model on their website and download the file to flash your BIOS.

Beware this can be risky so only do it if you have to.

Hi roor_uk. From Wimsbios, click here we can see that the 119900 in your BIOS identity tells us that your motherboard was made by Gigabyte. If you download and run AIDA32 click here, you may be able to find what the motherboard model number is.

If you do update the Bios make sure that you follow the instructions implicitly...:-)
