IBM THINKPAD LOSING DATE

Does the IBM Thinkpad 600e use a CMOS battery, or is this part of the plug in battery.Have opened machine but cant see a button cell.I Keep re-setting the date & time but it loses it on turnoff.

YESROF2. Yes it does use a CMOS battery which is tucked away in the Memory bay....see my self same query click here

Thanks for yr help. Now find reason why I could not find the button cell. The previous owner had unplugged it!!
