hi i have a seccond hand Laptop.

it is the IBM Thinkpad 380D but its infrared port is not working, the device is enabled although the Device has no name (in win 98 its under network adapters but it has no name I.e its blank. but its enabled) then if i open up infra red properties in control panel it says its disabled, i then enable it but it returnes an error, any ideas? P.s the error is this: "Error 45: Your infrared software has encountered an internal error. Check the infrared device's software configuration under network properties. if it is an external or installable device. check the connection then restart windows."

Is it enabled in the BIOS - I would think it is, but worth checking - and there's usually a choice of types to enable it as.
