I want to disable Cd/Floppy access

I am using Windows XP (Home edition) and want to be able to prevent certain accounts (i.e. guest or a particular user) from accessing the CD/DVD drive, possibly the floppy drive and possibly even the modem.

Is this possible and if so how ?

I would also like to prevent getting to the 'system' areas of the main drive.

The reasoning behind this is one of the users is untrustworthy and will keep on installing games etc instead of doing home etc on it.

It might be a bit of a pain, but CD/DVD drive, Floppy drive and modem can all be disabled in Device Manager. It would require Administrator rights to re-enable them.

I use XP pro so not familiar with Home but would suggest you investigate the Help file to see whether limited accounts are available in your version to accomplish this.
