Earlier this week i installed some ram on my computer - when i turned the computer on i got a beep and the moniter did not turn on (i think this means somethings fried)

the next time i tried to turn my computer on there was a Pop and i smelt smoke

now, i know that my PSu and Motherboard are Ok as i can turn my computer on (as before, theres no screen - but this time no beep either)

Im now not sure whats fried but i think it was the CPU - The fan on my video card still spins, and the fan on cpu spins -

is it likely that it is the CPU that fried and could it be caused by installing ram wrong (yes, i managed to install ram wrong...one side was up higher than the other)???

Don't think the CPU would fry before your MOBO
