MS Picture Manager allows customs resizing. It asks for pixels:

Paint states 150 pixels per inch = 59.055 per cm

4.61 cm x 59.055 = 272.245
3.58 cm x 59.055 = 211.417

Isn't maths wonderful.

cheerup347,

Just right click on the image you want to resize and it's in the menu that comes up, if you click the advanced box on the resizer window that comes up you can do custom sizes but you'll have to state the size in pixels.

Cheers Chris.

Whatever program you use, you will need to uncheck "preserve aspect ratio", but by doing this you will distort the image to a lesser/greater extent, depending on the original size. So you may find that cropping the image will be the best way to go.

Most image editors will do what you want, however for one of the best freeware editors click here

I think in word to change the size independently you need to right click on the picture, select format picture>size and untick the box "lock aspect ratio".

You beat me to it again and a more complete reply too!!

Make sure preserve aspect ratio isnt ticked if it has that option, cos the numbers u enter will copy the same width and hight.

it was the untick aspect ratio that made my day...lol

yep, thats sorted it, im doing it in word and would like to thank everyone that said how to do it

thanks
