I have lost the "go to desktop" Icon in the quick launch tray. It is very handy to have when I have several windows open. Where can I find it so that I can replace it?

Cheers

Assuming XP, to the right of the quick launch tool bar there's usually a small white arrow.

If so, click on it and you'll see additional quick launch icons available.

One of them may be the 'Show Desktop'.

If so, drag it down into the quick launch tool bar.

Alternatively, drag the sides of the quick launch tool bar to expand it and see them all.

Sorry, I did not explain myself clearly. This Icon has mistakenly been deleted.

System Restore?

To re-create the Show desktop icon yourself, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type notepad in the Open box, and then click OK.

Carefully copy and then paste the following text into the Notepad window:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

On the File menu, click Save As, and then save the file to your desktop as "Show desktop.scf". The Show desktop icon is created on your desktop.
Click and then drag the Show desktop icon to your Quick Launch toolbar.

...and a couple of alternative methods which don't need the icon:

1)Press the Windows logo key+D on your keyboard.

2)Right-click the Windows taskbar, and then click Show the Desktop or click Show Open Windows.
